The gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam... |
Ymir, short and sweet
2002-02-11 - 5:16 p.m.So, I was gonna make a best and the worst list like Anne did of Ymir, but will have to edit the Worst list portion...
Worst
- Long drive to Wake Forest, NC
- sleeping on the top bunk in the cabin, and having to do interesting gymnastics to get up there and hoping not to topple the bed over on me.
- Lots of walking despite my comfy shoes, and standing in the cold at night
- heavy thrones and box of china, and stairs into feast hall
- small petty people who are rude and get in the way of fun, or mere relaxation.
- the two or three snorers in the room that keep everyone else up at night
- standing for what seemed like forever on the cold hard concrete slab for evening court
- oh, the sore muscles, as E.T. says: "ooouuuch!"
Best
- the great companions for the drive down and back, which made the drive seem not as long as it was
- A good Queen worthy to serve
- comraderie and sleeping like a slumber party all in one room with your friends
- Kadlin making a hot breakfast for us all on Saturday morning so we would have the energy to almost last the day.
- All the great folks who finally got recognized in court for all to see. yay!
- getting the opportunity to chat with old friends like Duncan, Liam, Bera, Brigit, and Susie and all sorts of people I don't normally get the chance to chat with.
- invaluable help thanks to Roland, Alisandra, Llywelyn, Kadlin, Alan, Caroline, Katie, Chris, DEmma, and others...
- sunshine on what could have been a miserably cold day
- giving my pearl medallion to Briana, and seeing that grateful, surprised, excited look in her eyes.
- a fabulous feast, especially the cream cheese thing, fish and shrimp and roast beef, and yummy dessert
- Llywelyn's Flexeril
- sitting and chatting with Princess Isabel in the evening, who is a super cool lady by the way and I hope everyone who can help her during her reign will....
- sleeping on the empty bottom bunk on Saturday night and not having to climb to the top bunk again.
- those few rouge pieces of plywood that could be moved from bed to bed to provide a more firm resting place for those of us with bad backs
- the nap I got once I got home
