KA&SFest
2005-03-08 - 2:18 p.m.
KA&SFest was lovely. I'm so tired I can't really do a
summary, so I'll resort to bests and worsts.
Bests:
- Estrogen road trip with Thjora and Leofwynne
- Being there for Benefse's vigil and elevation, getting to spend
even just a few minutes in that special lady's company
- Finishing the banner (I didn't get pictures, so if anyone
got pictures of the banner, I'd really appreciate copies)
- Seeing friends and actually getting a bit more social time with
folks than at 12th Night
- Artsy goodness: weaving, glass extravaganza, games, Belfebe's
dress, Val's cheese, crown design competition entries, and all the
other stuff my foggy brain can't pull from memory.
- Hearing the Susie sing. I had Since First I Saw Your
Face melody stuck in my head for the rest of the day, even when
Cuan tried to transplant Jesus Christ, Superstar in its place.
- Playing with hair. I got to mess with Arielle's, Manya's,
Mel's, and Bera's locks. And I was so happy that my hair is
finally long enough to do the coronet braid without giving myself
horns, and it stayed all day.
- Missing the Pearl Mtg (bests because I spent it chillin' with my
Bera)
- Eldred's Laurel ceremony. I thought it was very keen.
- Party/dinner afterwards with a good group of folks at the Hibachi
place and Mel SW's suite.
- Nummy Cracker Barrel Breakfast before getting on the
road. hmmmm... Country Ham.....
- Visiting with Balynar during the hour break to drop off my road
companions, and get puppy love and more Diet Coke.
- Home in time for a long nap and then dinner with the Morgensterns
at Outback.
Worsts:
- Sleep deprivation
- Evil 95 traffic on Friday night. What is it with that
stretch between DC and Fredericksburg?
- Missing Nikulai's taking of a protégé cause I'm
dumb.
- Not nearly enough water or Diet Coke during the day.
- Missed those who couldn't make it, but best that they all keep
their germs to themselves.
- Long wait for dinner food (but at least the company was beyond
compare, and I got to fix my DC deficiency)
- Skin reaction: my face feels like Texas; dry,
dry, itchy, and trying to secede from the union. Very
acute reaction to something over the weekend.
- Still tired regardless of plenty of catch-up sleep. I
accidentally overslept this morning and thanks to weather and traffic
missed most of a meeting. sigh.
There's my nutshell. This weekend should be a nice relaxing time,
with any luck.
