Should I be concerned that our neighbors, who seem to have a plethora of plastic patio furniture, haven't moved any of it inside or even tied it down, or together? If the winds kick up and I see them moving around a bit, I might head out there with some bungees to secure them to our fence, or something.

This message was sent out to our IT department:

"Everyone may want to remove any valuables from the floor before you leave today. As you are aware, IT has had problems with flooding in the past. The problem was supposed to be eliminated when they fixed the drainage problem outside of the building. I guess the next couple of days will be a real test."

I've always wondered at the wisdom of having the IT Dept in the leaky basement? Sure, they are safe from tornados and stuff, but water water everywhere? At least the servers are on a false floor, so I think it can flood 12 inches before they risk getting wet.

Isn't it enough that the Goverment offices and schools are closed. Do they have to close the liquor stores early too? :)

Keep safe all you coastal North Carolinians and Virginians!
