crown in short
2003-05-06 - 4:33 p.m.

Ugh.

Crown was such a pain in the neck.

no... seriously...

Sunday morning I woke up with a thick cord of pain running down my neck on the right hand side. It's still there despite a little massage, hot water in the shower, heating pad, and some muscle relaxers. feh. Maybe the chiropractor can do something with it tonight. Oh, I hope so.

On the plus side, I did discover that Tiger Balm now makes pain relief patches. Oh glory, wonderful self adhesive 2"x3" patches of heaty goodness. This is truly proof that there is a god of some sort. :) Mind you I didn't feel like wearing a turtle neck, but I also didn't want to have to explain said patch to everyone at work, so I pulled out a scarf and tied that around my neck today. I looked like Dracula's latest victim. Or a girl who's boyfriend really likes to give hickeys, or something. Patch is good for temporary relief for around 6 hours or so.

So, back to Crown, let me explain. No, too much. Let me sum up. Late night friday arrival at hotel. Early arrival on site for tent set up, A&S hall set up. Long tourney. Missed most of it due to running around. Hot and muggy. Forgot to pack sports bra and bike shorts, it's a girl thing. Final round, brutal, guys were tired, too well matched. Left handed ex-angelsey guys. Run to hall to herd cats into judging, thankful for the wonderful cats, great cats. meow. Court late. Court long. Packing out in torrential rain. Driving back to hotel in rain and hail. Missed dinner with Gainers n'crew. Late dinner with Cuan n'crew. Yummy british pub food. Wen spooked by Henry talking about Coupling. Coupling the BBCAmerican TV show, not the act. British Comedy bonding with random waitress. Crash hard. Sunday morning, up early, pain in neck, back to site to take down wet tent, missed brunch with Tom and Dan due to ineptitude. Lovely brunch with just my Alan at the Spartacus Grille in Cary. Excellent food! Great discovery! Find pharmacy and thermacare heat packs, long drive home, unpack gear, set up tent top in garage on saw horses to dry out since rain imminent. blah blah blah Ginger blah blah blah

Highly recommend Spartacus Grille for food in Cary. Seeing John's Pelican was very groovy, and touching. He's such a good egg. Congrats to Rags and Kyna on winning Crown and being next heirs. As Andras said:

All Hail Ragnarr and Kyneburh!

tee hee, tee hee hee hee, hail, get it...

sigh.
