Well, didn't I have an exciting weekend... sure...

So, Friday night rolls around and Theo's new furniture for her sewing room has arrived. But since Theo has a bad back, and only one sweet Roland, Alan, Mel and I went on over to their place to assist with the moving of the furniture to the sewing room madness. Now, what I need to be careful to note here is that Theo's sewing room is up the stairs, that include a small landing, and down a hall, on the right. Remember the corners. up stairs, take a left on the landing, upstairs, take a left down the hall, and then a right into the room. Theo says she measured everything and it should all fit. Trust the engineer, right... Oh, and the cast of items that need to be moved to the sewing room include two large boxes of sewing room furniture that are about 300lbs each, or so, and an armoire. Did I say armoire? Yes I did. So, we figure the best way to get everything up the stairs due to the narrow stairwell, is to have Alan and Rob muscle everything up, with me and Mel being spotters. They get the boxes up with lots of huffing and puffing and not much else but brute strength. Involved lots of turning them on their ends to get them through narrow places, like the stair landing. It was rough, but not all together evil, just involved a lot of Alan and Rob sweat. Now, the armoire was a different beast all together. While the other two pieces were in boxes with inadequate handles, the armoire was a solid piece that had been stained out in the garage. And it was solid hardwood. yup. So, Alan and Rob head out to the garage to fetch it, bring it in through the front door to avoid more corners, and then have to tackle getting it up the stairs. muscle, muscle, muscle up to the landing and then a "Now What?!?" happens. It won't fit on the landing to turn it to go up the rest of the stairs. Hmmm.. it would be nice to have one more person at the top of the stairs to hold it while Theo steadies the railing we'll lay it on, but see, the stairs are rather occupied with the big wooden thing. sheesh. I'm standing at the base of the stairs and decide to transform into a monkey really quickly, and I climb up the stairs using the railing mostly. It was quite fun, oooooohhhh oohh oohh, eeeeehhh!! I thought of Genie. So finally after lots of sweat and praying and taking a little chunk out of the door frame, we get it there and in place. Alan ask Theo is she measured everything in 3-D to make sure it would fit through the turns. The answer is, I measured it to make sure it'd fit through the door! of course! sigh... moving shit sucks, glad Alan and Rob got the hard part. :)

So, since Theo is a good friend, we all head out to a pub called the Royal Mile. Excellent food, and nice scotch selection. She buys. life wasn't too bad, except that the rain decided to dump as soon as we pulled up the restaurant so we were drenched little kittens while we ate. eh, could have been worse. Went home and slept the good sleep after that good evenings work. Theo will have to get professional movers to get that stuff out if they ever move to another house...

So, Sat. was sewing day at the Morgenstern household. I think Theo just wanted to show off her new toys. I worked on some things at home first before heading over, and ended up not doing much productive while I was there. I did make two batches of the yummy protein dessert.

Arrggghhh, I gotta run, will finish this update later, I wish I could just be left alone!!!

see y'all later
