Estrogen tidal wave...

Not quite to tsunami status, but way fun nonetheless.

So, when we last left our heroes, Gen and Wendy were sending the men on a mission to the nether regions of Virginia for hard labor and they had an excellent day of chick stuff planned. Around noon on Sat. Wendy arrives and starts playing with the food for dinner later. Gen has already set out the girly Terra Chips and Hersey's miniatures, etc. and put drinks in the fridge. Soon the party begins when Gwen, Jake, Cindy, and Sorcha arrive toting three sewing machines and one serger with them. Whaaaahooootie! Brigit shows up a little later for the stitch and bitch session. We never made it to movies, but had wine, and chocolate and rum etc. and commenced with the sewing and needlepoint and beading and cooking and lazing about like slugs talking about all sorts of stuff. This was a blast. And the cous de gras was the dinner Wendy prepared. I don't know french, so don't bust me on this. She made a beed roast stuffed with onions and with a lovely port wine sauce. On the side was steamed asparagus wrapped in procuisotto and a cream cheese and herb sauce. Quoth the Brigit who ate hers in her car on the beltway on to visit another girlfriend: Oh My God!!!! yuppers, I agree, we polished off all but one piece. Girl thing lasted until the boys came back around 11pm and then the estrogen was disturbed by men who had been pounding on masonry all day and the day was over. This was fun, and to be repeated at a later date, guarantee!!!

We all slept in like bumms on Sunday. I think I finally woke up around 10am only to plop down and wathc several hours of home improvement shows on TLC. Ah, Hometime! Then Sunday night was the concert at the Birchmere Theater in Alexandria, VA. DaVinci's Notebook and Robbie Schafer of Eddie From Ohio performed. It totally rocked. It was a sit down dinner place with waitresses and such instead of a typical concert hall. The food was good... ribs!!!, the atmosphere was excellent, couldn't have wanted for better company and the show was unstoppable. Included in the party was Rob, Wen, me, Alan, Kevin, Gwen, Jake, Kate, Chuck and Kymber. We all had fun. Da boyz in DaVinci's Notebook were all extra crazy since they sold, out the Birchmere and were silly and self indulgent. Requestarramma even went well, which can go bad very easily. They even sang a silly song about a very large penis. all was well.

Sadly, I did have to get up this morning and go to work, instead of many of my cute little friends who got to sleep in today as a holiday. grrr..... I even had to train these twits upstairs in HR on our system. Now talk about fun. They didn't even know what they needed to ultimately do, so teaching them the admin side of the system was just about silly. Then I ended up clearing a printer jam and showing one of them how to set message filters while I was up there. tedious.

Two more good bits of news. My friends Tom and Dan are enganged to celebrate their eternal union in November. Now to those who may not understand or approve of the homosexual lifestyle, just sit yourself down. I figure if you can find anyone in this world who can tolerate you and that you can love, you should be together, no matter your sex. Happiness to them both. Also, one of my co-workers, the good Courtnay, got engaged on Friday night to her long term boyfriend. tee hee hee.... life plans are happening all around my work place with three engaged women and two men with new baby/baby on the way. Ohmigod! Now my poor manager is getting the engagement blues since she's been dating her man for quite some time too. poor girl. He'll get around to it eventually, but he's got the ex-wife blues to contend with.

Oh well... Here's wishing you all find that special someone and have the forethought to hold on to them when you do. Happiness to all!!!! Okay, I'm so perky I want to kill me!
